Welcome remarks of the Ambassador

It is my great honor to warmly welcome you to the official website of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Japan. After 30 years of implementing the Renovation (Doi Moi) policy, Viet Nam has been steadily marching on the way of industrialization and modernization of the nation and is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Viet Nam now boasts diplomatic ties with nearly 180 countries of 190 members of the United Nation and trade relations with nearly 230 economies all over the world. Viet Nam also is a active member of more than 70 regional and international organizations and trying its best to play a proactive role in the international community.

With more than 90 million hard-working and talented people, rich in natural resources, home to numerous world heritages, and located in the center of a dynamic economic growth region, Viet Nam is an ideal place to visit and do business.

Viet Nam and Japan established diplomatic relationship on September 21, 1973. Since then, the bilateral cooperation has strongly been developed. During the State visit of Viet Nam President Truong Tan Sang to Japan in March, 2014, Leaders of the two countries have agreed to upgrade the Viet Nam-Japan relations to an Extensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia, which opens a better-than-ever bilateral relationship in all fields - in both width and depth.
